Mitspah Ministries began not in a building, but in a living room. Founded by a devoted minister with a passion for service and evangelism, Mitspah emerged from humble beginnings—family worship sessions among six faithful believers. After years of dedicated service within the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Haiti and the United States, our founder Pastor Arsène Cyla found himself at a spiritual crossroads. Despite faithful service to multiple districts and departments in Haiti and the U.S., he faced institutional roadblocks that hindered further engagement. This experience became the seed for something new. Tired of exclusion and determined to worship freely, Pastor Cyla began holding home services rooted in scripture, prayer, and outreach. That commitment to authentic, Spirit-led worship birthed what we now know as Mitspah Ministries.
MAKE A CONTRIBUTIONMitspah Ministries didn’t begin with committees or a building—it began with obedience. Pastor Arsène Cyla, after years of faithful service within the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Haiti and the U.S., found himself called into deeper, more personal ministry. What started as home worship with family and a few friends quickly turned into a movement rooted in prayer, scripture, and community. Mitspah was founded as a space where worship would be genuine, leadership accountable to God, and all would be welcomed to grow in faith—regardless of politics or power structures.
Mitspah is a Haitian-rooted, spirit-led church with global values. Though currently outside the formal conference system, our beliefs, practices, and theology are completely aligned with the Seventh-day Adventist message and mission. We stand in the gap until doors are opened.
We believe in whole-person ministry. This means we don’t just preach salvation—we help people live it. Our focus isn’t only on what happens inside the church, but what happens in your home, your health, your habits, and your relationships.
We build programs and partnerships that:
At Mitspah Ministries, we are committed to preaching the undiluted truth of the Gospel as found in the Word of God. Through sermons, Bible studies, and personal discipleship, we help people discover Jesus Christ and develop a lasting, transformative relationship with Him.
We believe that spiritual health goes hand in hand with physical well-being. Our health ministry promotes biblical principles of wellness, encouraging balanced lifestyles, nutritious choices, and mental wholeness in alignment with God's desire for us to prosper in body and spirit.
Families are the heart of the church. Mitspah provides counseling, workshops, and family-based activities that strengthen bonds and promote spiritual growth. We guide families to build stronger connections rooted in faith, prayer, and mutual love, even in challenging seasons.
The youth are not just the future—they are the now. Through mentorship, education, and creative ministry opportunities, we equip young people to lead with integrity, serve with purpose, and grow as thinkers grounded in biblical truth and active faith.
We uphold the highest ethical standards, ensuring transparency and accountability in all our actions and decisions.
At Mitspah Church, our various departments work together to serve the community and support our mission of spiritual growth, service, and outreach. Each department is committed to fulfilling a unique role that contributes to the overall health and vitality of our church. From ministries focused on children and youth to those that provide outreach to the sick, elderly, and underserved, our church departments ensure that every individual is welcomed and supported in their journey of faith.
Mitspah is proud of its Haitian foundation—and yet, it’s a home for all. Our worship may carry the flavor of our Caribbean culture, but our love and teaching are open to everyone. We speak the language of scripture, praise in authenticity, and teach with passion.
From traditional hymns to spirited praise, from Creole prayers to English Bible studies, Mitspah welcomes diversity within a shared faith. We celebrate our heritage while reaching beyond it to bless and serve others in Fort Lauderdale and beyond.
The word “Mitspah” comes from Genesis 31:49, where it’s written, “May the Lord watch between you and me when we are absent one from another.” This covenant between Jacob and Laban wasn’t just a farewell—it was a promise that even in distance, God would remain the connection.
At Mitspah Ministries, that spirit defines everything we do. We are a place of togetherness, spiritual watchfulness, and divine covering. Whether you’re physically close or watching our services online, you’re under the same spiritual protection and promise.
